FarmFunded’s Traction:

The operational arm of FarmFunded Agroservices Limited started their adventure in the rice space by growing rice on a farm in Nassarawa in 2019, as the end of the year was approaching, we entered an agreement with millers around our farm; for them to mill our paddy for us. Fate would have it that the border was closed and rice farmers doubled their capacity.

This place increased pressures on millers who could not completely process the quantity of paddy the farmers have into rice, and they disowned the contract we had with them but rather than jilter; we got into top gear and constructed a mill in Kano (15 tonnes per day).

The mill was completed just in time for us to get involved in 2019 rice sales to markets across Nigeria. As a matter of fact, we have produced about 20,000 bags of premium parboiled rice from that period till now.

Presently, we are cultivating rice and increasing our milling capacity by constructing an Integrated Rice Mill which is billed to produce a trailer load of rice per day.

Every achievement in the rice space was backed by the confidence and support of our investors. As they funded our rice farm, rice processing, and rice trading over this period. We ensure to reward their confidence in us by staying true to our terms of contract with them even during the economic downturn caused by the lockdown and pandemic.

Rice Processing 4.0:

The old and new mill will run not just on power but on paddy; the management team plans to produce a trailer load of rice every working day from start of operation in 2020 till 2021. This means your investment will allow us to procure paddy, mill, and bag it, this is the reason the investment term carries a 12-month duration.

The location of RiPIP 4.0 is in Kano, which is where our warehouse, mill, and office is located. The unit cost 50,000 Naira each, and interest rate has been set at 35%.

The interest rate is in accordance to projection made for 2021’s Nigeria Economic Outlook and also as the result of the shockwave of the pandemic. The reality of rice farm and infact the food production sector is simply that, farmers’ capacity to produce as much as needed has reduced.

Rice farmers are expected to start harvesting as soon as heavy rain stops, so they can start drying; but it is expected that paddy will not be sold in the region of last year’s price as many farmers have been affected by the lockdown and insecurity in Nigeria.

This has different implications on millers, distributors, retailers, buyers, and including you our investor. So we are simply staying true and adjusting to the conditions of Nigeria’s rice sector; we however look beyond the pandemic to the time when Nigeria’s will get back to the zone of steady prosperity.
